THE PURPOSE

Create a competitive-edge within the field of intelligent solutions
for the built environment

The purpose of The Quantum Innovation Park is to create a synergy-enhancing miljeu for the conducting of research, development and commercialisation activities related to the evolution of Smart, Secure and Sustainable solutions for individual buildings, building clusters, cities and infrastructure.

The new era of ”Internet of Things” (IoT®) will be a natural component of the Park’s activities. IoT is opening tremendous opportunities for an infinite number of applications that promise to improve the quality of our lives.

The Park will bring together leading-edge corporations, research and academic institutes, consultants, public bodies and financing houses to form a multi-disciplinary environment of complementary capabilities and dynamic entrepreneurial organisations and individuals. Quantum Innovation Park will promote the evolution of converging technologies and accelerate the route from research and development towards the securing of commercial success.

The Park will facilitate the more efficient cross-fertilisation of ideas and knowledge between specialist activities, enhancing the evolution of new system solutions.

An intelligent built environment will demonstrate a capacity for surveilling its own performance, its consumption of resources, diagnosing and adjusting inefficiencies and enhancing its efficiences. This will lead to a capability for the optimal functioning, technical efficiency and architectural appeal of the built environment. It will also promote profitabilty, environmental-friendliness and sustainability. In the end, producing a better environment in which to live, work, and play.

Intelligent systems will, by enhancing the opportunities for improvement, automatically raise the benchmark from which statutory regulations are introduced. This means, for example, that buildings with high environmental performance will avoid statutory penalisation and be the target of increased market demand and consequential value enhancement.

”IoT refers to the networked connection of everyday objects which are equipped with ubiquitous intelligence.

IoT will increase the ubiquity of the internet by integrating every object for interaction via embedded systems, which leads to a highly distributed network of devices communicating with both human beings and other devices. IoT is opening tremendous opportunities for an infinite number of applications that promise to improve the quality of our lives”.
